Thanks, y’all!
In 2019, I started gathering mushrooms to arrange and photograph. The pandemic hit along with one of the area’s best mushroom years on record. This resulted in me having lots of time to gather mushrooms, arrange and photograph pieces, all while having the choicest mix of mushrooms available.
My instagram account gathered more traction as the mushroom craze hit America. It was a joyful ride to be on. Two different publishing houses bought images to use as puzzles and you can still find them on Amazon. I met lots of different mushroom enthusiasts around the world. And this whole Small Woodland Things has taken me to places that I never imagined.
Today, I am not making as much art as I did in previous years. I am enjoying doing different arts and craft projects that are for my own enjoyment and spending time with friends. Additionally, I am having to focus more time and energy on the business that my husband and I own (high rise window cleaning). I still enjoy being outside and learning about the relationship of different species to one another. I also still love geeking out on the colors and textures that are in nature. However, things are winding down at Small Woodland Things. If there is a burning desire you have, send me an email at smallwoodlandthings@gmail.com.
Mush Love, Heather
